We are seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our founding clinical team and support both surgical care and overall patient experience. This role is ideal for a confident oral surgery assistant who is comfortable supporting IV sedation cases , maintaining high clinical standards, and stepping in to assist with front office and patient-facing responsibilities as needed in a collaborative, team-oriented practice. What You'll Do
- Assist the surgeon during surgical procedures, including IV sedation cases
- Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to support safe, high-quality patient care
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols
- Prepare and maintain an organized, unobstructed operative field using surgical instrumentation, suction, and irrigation
- Anticipate surgeon needs and ensure required instruments, equipment, and supplies are available
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and support post-operative recovery workflows
- Obtain dental radiographs and imaging as required
- Complete accurate clinical documentation and patient narratives
- Support treatment coordination by reinforcing treatment plans and post-operative instructions with patients
- Assist with answering phones, checking patients in and out, and supporting front office flow as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and practice policies
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prior hands-on oral surgery assisting experience , including IV sedation cases is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently and confidently in a fast-paced surgical environment with minimal ramp-up
- BLS certification (required)
- ICE certification (required)
- Radiology certification (DANB RHS or equivalent) required
- DAANCE certification strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization, and infection control standards
- Excellent patient care skills with a calm, professional demeanor
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to anticipate surgeon needs
- Reliable, adaptable, and team-oriented with a willingness to support across clinical and front office functions
