Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across the age spectrum within the Med Surg unit.
- Assess patient needs, problems and concerns; perform ongoing data collection across physiologic, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and cognitive domains, including nutrition, pain, education, family involvement, and advocacy.
- Identify learning needs of patients, families, and caregivers; tailor education and involve them in the plan of care.
- Develop, implement, and update a goal-directed plan of care; document plans and outcomes clearly in the medical record.
- Educate patients and families about the plan of care; promote safety, comfort, and advocacy.
- Delegate and coordinate duties of the health care team; participate in orientation and training of staff; ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team; maintain professional standards and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain required competencies, licensure, certifications, and education as outlined by local administration and regulatory guidelines; participate in nursing research as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and unit needs.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (CA)
- Education: Graduation from an approved nursing education program (RN)
- Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts in a hospital setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and precise documentation
- Vaccination status as required by policy; ability to comply with organizational vaccination requirements (accommodations may apply)
- Eligibility to work in the United States; employer participates in E-Verify
