This is what has driven our teams since 1833.Since that time, we have developed to become a critical partner in the global aviation industry, delivering time-critical logistics services at over 300 locations in 65 countries, across 6 continents.But at the heart of our business is our people.Role PurposeThe Security screener provides security screening to prevent the introduction of weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items into the air transportation system by means of available screening equipment such as hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections. The screening provides security for the aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff.What You Will Be DoingMust be familiar with all Government/Airport/Client and Company regulationsDeals courteously and communicates effectively with fellow employeesActively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)Communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to managersMust conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of a questionable or dangerous itemNotify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessaryEnsure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons/objects discovered until arrival of the Law Enforcement OfficerContact Law Enforcement Officer if items of contraband (illegal items) are discovered during the screening processMaintain control of items until arrival of the L.E.O.Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to supervisor immediatelyKeep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needsAttend meetings and in-services as requiredUtilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as requiredUtilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost-effective mannerPerform other duties as requested.Safety, Security, Wellbeing and Compliance:You will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. As such the Company prohibits such misuse and carries out regular testing to enforce our Substance Misuse Policy.What We Are Looking ForHigh School diploma/G.E.D. or equivalentMust be a U.S. citizenMust be 18 years of age or olderPrevious experience in security, military, or customer serviceMust have reliable telephone and transportationPrevious airline experiencePossess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the publicMust be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in EnglishMust be able to read identification badges, credentials and labels on bottles, aerosol cans and packagesMust be able to open and close latches, zippers and screw caps.
