Part-Time 5+ years Experienced IT Help Desk Contractor

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a Part-Time Experienced Level II IT Help Desk Contractor to join our team! You will provide Level II end-user technical support for user desktops, laptops, smartphones, and remote access as well as initial response for servers and network devices, and will work with our IT staff located in New York. You will visit the client 1 day every other week for help desk support, plus work on IT projects and be able to respond in case of IT emergencies. You must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of IT experience, strong communication skills, and be able to commute to clients in Knoxville, TN, and surrounding areas. Responsibilities: The following reflects management's definition of some of the essential functions for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time for any reason. • Provide first and second level help desk support • Perform routine preventative maintenance. • Document all technical procedures and create/update user guides. • Install software and equipment at client locations. • Perform software and hardware upgrades and roll-outs. • Communicate directly with clients, other technicians, and project leaders regarding projects, issues, and follow-ups. • Promptly enter troubleshooting calls and tickets into the help desk system every day. • Perform other duties, including special projects as assigned by project leaders. Qualifications: • Five years in the IT field • Ability to prioritize and multitask. • Deadline and detail-oriented. • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills. • Experienced with advanced technical support procedures for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, browsers, and standard business applications and/or replacing equipment at client locations. • Basic knowledge of Windows server and networking are required. • Must be able to lift and move upto 20 lbs. of equipment without assistance. • Ability to build rapport with clients • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills • Positive and professional demeanor Company Description We are a Microsoft-certified IT consulting and managed service provider for small and mid-sized organizations based in the greater New York City area.
