Facilities Operations Technician / Data Center Building Engineer Disciplines: Mechanical | Electrical | Generalist Compensation: $30–$45/hr (based on experience) + overtime Relocation Assistance: $8,000 Start Timing: Mid‑June or July Insight Global is partnering with a leading hyperscale data center operator to hire Facilities Operations Technicians and Building Engineers to support mission‑critical infrastructure in Abilene, TX. About the Role You’ll play a key role in maintaining uptime across a large‑scale data center. Depending on your background, you may focus on mechanical systems, electrical power systems, or operate as a cross‑functional generalist supporting overall facility operations. What You’ll Do Operate, monitor, and maintain critical infrastructure systems including HVAC, cooling, electrical power, and life‑safety systems Troubleshoot and respond to alarms involving chillers, generators, UPS, switchgear, and related equipment Manage preventive and corrective maintenance through a CMMS Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure operational excellence Support day shift operations (flexibility for nights as needed) What We’re Looking For (dependent on level) Background in mechanical, electrical, or cross‑functional facilities operations Hands‑on experience with UPS systems, generators, switchgear, HVAC, and/or fire/life safety systems Comfort working in a 24/7, high‑availability or mission‑critical environment Experience in a data center, critical facilities, or industrial setting Willingness to fully relocate to Abilene, TX if not currently local (relocation assistance provided) Why This Opportunity Long‑term career potential with a contract‑to‑hire path Exposure to hyperscale data center operations Competitive hourly pay with overtime opportunities Relocation support to make the move seamless Important Note: This role requires full relocation to Abilene, Texas if you are not already located there.
