Director of Manufacturing

Position Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on Director of Manufacturing to lead plant operations, drive strategic initiatives and scale manufacturing capabilities during a high-growth phase. This individual will play a critical role in advancing the company’s lean manufacturing journey, improving operational efficiency and implementing automation across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of plant operations, including manufacturing, engineering and EH&S.
- Take ownership of the company’s lean manufacturing transformation and building upon the current foundation established by external consultants and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and eliminate production bottlenecks, improve throughput and optimize production scheduling.
- Drive automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Oversee a team of eight direct reports and approximately 150 indirect employees.
- Implement best practices in operational strategy, process improvement and performance management.
- Partner cross-functionally to align operations with business growth objectives.
Qualifications
- 10 or more years of experience in aerospace manufacturing.
- More than three years of experience in a Plant Manager, Site Leader or similar operations leadership role.
- Strong background in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Experience scaling operations in a growth environment, ideally within a similarly sized facility.
- Background in plastics (injection molding) and/or metals manufacturing.
- Proven ability to drive automation and improve manufacturing processes.
- Education is flexible; experience and leadership capability are prioritized.
