Restorative Aide

Restorative Aide PositionHomestead is hiring a Restorative Aide position that will work with seniors and will split their time between facilities in Allen Park and Dearborn.The Restorative Aide's job is to assist residents who participate in the Restorative Program on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial function. You will promote resident involvement and help the resident reach his or her goals according to the care plan.Responsibilities:Motivate resident to participate in directed exercise program determined by Restorative tech, as instructed by PT, OT and/or speech therapyPlan and lead activities that promote wellness (spiritually, cognitively, physically, emotionally)Provide 1:1 exercise program that will benefit the restorative clientReview resident files and draw information that may affect the residents' ability to participate in restorative programMarket the program and articulate its process with family, client and appropriate departments and/or companiesCommunicate with PT, OT, and Speech departments regarding progress and concernsFollow directives given by PT, OT and SpeechDevelop and implement small group exercise programs for wellness of all residentsComplete assessment and document on each client on a daily basis when visited by restorative techBill for the completed programming given at the end of each monthAny and all additional responsibilities as directed by building manager/restorative supervisorKnowledge required:Knowledge of proper body mechanics when working with residentsKnowledge of safety concerns and procedures for decrease risk of falls when working with residentsKnowledge of medications that may affect client's ability to successfully participate in restorative programBenefits include:Opportunities for advancementPay starts with orientationPaid time offHealth benefits
