Registered Nurse - Urgent Care

Job Description

The Arora Group is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse Urgent Care in Washington, DC, to support the Department of Homeland Security Headquarters Workforce Care Clinic at the St. Elizabeths Campus. The Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care in an onsite clinic supporting occupational health, urgent care, and mission-related clinical services for DHS personnel, active-duty U.S. Coast Guard members, and other authorized patients.

This is a full-time, onsite position, generally scheduled Monday through Friday from 8: 00 a.M. To 4: 30 p.M. The position is contingent upon contract award and is anticipated to begin September 22, 2026.

The Registered Nurse is designated as key personnel for this requirement. The candidate selected for proposal submission will be asked to confirm availability and sign a letter of intent supporting The Arora Group s proposal.

Duties of the Registered Nurse Urgent Care

• Perform patient intake, triage, and initial clinical assessments.
• Conduct focused nursing assessments and document subjective and objective findings.
• Provide nursing care for acute, non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries in accordance with approved standing orders and clinical protocols.
• Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, treatments, and emergency response.
• Administer medications and treatments through approved routes, including oral, intramuscular, intravenous, subcutaneous, and topical administration.
• Perform wound care, splinting, vital-sign monitoring, electrocardiograms, and point-of-care testing.
• Collect laboratory specimens and ensure their proper handling and processing.
• Identify conditions requiring escalation and coordinate referrals, transfers, or higher levels of care.
• Respond to medical emergencies and assist with patient stabilization and transfer.
• Support occupational health services, including pre-employment and pre-placement examinations, medical-surveillance examinations, immunizations, and return-to-work evaluations.
• Provide patient education, facilitate appropriate follow-up, and support continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the designated electronic health record.
• Follow applicable infection-control, privacy, confidentiality, and patient-safety requirements.
• Participate in clinic-readiness, quality-improvement, emergency-response, and mission-support activities

Qualifications of the Registered Nurse Urgent Care

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the District of Columbia.
• Certification: Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience: At least one year of professional experience as a licensed Registered Nurse in an urgent care center, emergency department, ambulatory clinic, or comparable clinical setting.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred but not required.
• Experience in occupational health, emergency care, or a federal clinical environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in urgent care nursing procedures, triage, patient assessment, medication administration, and emergency response.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of applicable patient privacy and confidentiality requirements, including HIPAA, the Privacy Act, and requirements governing personally identifiable information.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical-thinking ability, communication skills, reliability, and professional integrity.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, assist patients, and perform clinical duties for extended periods.
• Must successfully complete all Government-required credentialing, background-investigation, and suitability requirements before placement and maintain eligibility throughout employment.
