Travel Physical Therapist (PT) – West Monroe, Louisiana Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in West Monroe, Louisiana Assignment: 13‑week travel assignment. Job Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy to help patients recover and become independent. This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to high‑quality, safe patient care. Essential Work Functions Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history. Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals. Implement physical therapy treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain. Operate specialized equipment and modalities safely, ensuring proper maintenance. Assess progress, adjust plans, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other professionals for coordinated care. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, and injury prevention. Maintain a safe environment following infection control and safety protocols. Engage in quality assurance and professional development activities. Participate in discharge planning for smooth transitions. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice. Required Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations. Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in physical therapy. Physical Therapy experience; new graduates welcome. Other certifications or licenses as required. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication. Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English. PC skills. Physical Abilities Remain in stationary position, move around, lift 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend. Interpersonal, Technical/Motor, Mental, and Sensory Requirements Work effectively with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude. Perform fine manipulation and use department equipment. Maintain concentration, handle deadlines, and work under supervision or independently. Cope with frequent public interaction, irregular schedules. Visual acuity to communicate effectively.
