This full-time Control Systems Engineer role involves traveling from project to project, typically spending 3-6 months at each location. You will commission and qualify advanced automation and control systems, working closely with internal engineering teams and clients to enhance process manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and overall profitability. The position offers extensive hands-on experience, exposure to diverse industries, and strong opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.
Responsibilities

• Execute automation commissioning and validation protocols for process manufacturing control systems.
• Troubleshoot and remediate commissioning and validation non-conformances to ensure systems operate reliably and meet specifications.
• Collaborate with internal engineers and client teams to design and deliver state-of-the-art control systems that improve efficiency, product quality, and profitability.
• Define, configure, and implement programmable logic controller (PLC) architectures for new and existing systems.
• Perform testing, on-site commissioning, and qualification of control systems to verify proper operation and compliance.
• Support building automation initiatives, integrating mechanical, electrical, and control components into cohesive systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to HMI interfaces, mechanical systems, and electrical systems during commissioning and ongoing support.
• Document configuration changes, test results, and commissioning activities in a clear and organized manner.
• Provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer to client personnel and team members as needed.
• Adapt to changing project requirements, schedules, and locations while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in programming and configuring control systems, including PLCs.
• Experience with control systems engineering in process manufacturing or related environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot automation, HMI, mechanical, and electrical issues in the field.
• Knowledge of building automation concepts and integration of control systems with mechanical and electrical components.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remediate commissioning and validation non-conformances.
• Capability to work effectively in a team environment with internal engineers and clients.
• Engineering degree in mechanical, systems, automation, or electrical engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Flexibility to travel and work on multi-month assignments at different locations.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended shifts as required by the project.
• Adaptable and enthusiastic approach to learning new technologies and processes.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site, travel-based role where you work at client facilities for approximately 3-6 months per project. The schedule typically consists of either six 10-hour shifts per week or five 10-hour shifts per week, depending on project needs. You will work in industrial and process manufacturing environments that require the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The role offers frequent travel, per diem, and exposure to different industries, providing a dynamic and hands-on work setting with strong opportunities for growth, training, and leadership. Project work is based in and around locations such as Dalton, GA, with travel to other sites as required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagle Mountain, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $50.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
