Inpatient Hospital Medicine Coverage • Level II Trauma Center • Day and Night Shifts

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Virginia licensed Hospitalist Physicians for a locum tenens inpatient hospital medicine assignment in Salem, Virginia. This role supports acute inpatient care in a Level II trauma center, with procedural support preferred and documentation completed in Meditech EMR.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Salem, Virginia
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Inpatient hospital medicine at a Level II trauma center
• Coverage: Ongoing
• Scheduled Coverage: ASAP
• Minimum Availability: At least 7 shifts during the assignment period

Schedule Details

• Day shifts: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Night shifts: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
• Willingness to work both days and nights required

Clinical Scope

• Acute inpatient care for patients of all ages
• General medicine and primary care duties
• Procedural support preferred: central lines, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, paracentesis
• Documentation in Meditech EMR
• Collaboration with GME and non-GME physicians and advanced practice providers

Practice Environment

• Level II trauma hospital with 306 beds
• Hospitalist team includes both GME and non-GME providers
• Meditech EMR used for documentation

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license (in hand)
• Unrestricted VA DEA registration (in hand)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• BLS and ACLS
• Willingness to work both day and night shifts
• Availability for at least 7 shifts during the assignment period

• Experience with central lines, lumbar puncture, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
