About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Ortho Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: - Minimum 2 years of experience preferred - Ortho trauma and total joint replacement experience required - Previous travel experience preferred License: - State or Compact license must be in hand at the time of submittal Certifications: - BLS - ACLS preferred - NIHSS preferred Must-Have: - Experience with Epic charting system - Ability to manage various nursing procedures including but not limited to: - Accessing/Managing Ports - BiPAP/CPAP management - Blood product administration - Central line blood draws - Chest tube management - Colostomy/Ileostomy care - High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) - Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) - Pre/Post Hemodialysis management - Total joint replacements - Tracheostomy care/management Description: The role involves providing care for patients with orthopedic trauma and joint replacements. You will be responsible for managing medical/surgical patients on a busy unit. Required skills include managing high patient volume while maintaining a patient-centered approach. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, phlebotomy, and physical therapy is essential. This position requires strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills. You will need to demonstrate competence in specialized nursing procedures as outlined in the must-have qualifications. Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to cover weekend shifts is also required.
