Systems Engineers (EDI Data Integration) [Level II]

DUTIES:

Under supervision of the IT Manager, perform following job duties: System Design & Architecture: Analysis, development, & operation of comp systems for B2B integration using Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, Sterling Secure Proxy, & related components; Design & implement RESTful APIs for application communication, ensuring integration w/ enterprise systems & Cloud platforms-Azure, Docker, & OpenShift; Develop, integrate, & implement secure FTP (AS2, FTP/S, SFTP, MQ) using PGP encryption for secure data transmission; Collab to select appropriate design solutions, ensuring compatibility & interoperability of system components across environments, incl Cloud platforms & on-premises configs; System Config & Implementation: Install, configure, & maintain systems-Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, & Sterling Secure Proxy, ensuring proper integration w/ enterprise systems & secure protocols for data exchange; Implement MyFileGateway solutions & manage trading partner profiles, communication protocols, & document standards within Sterling Integrator ecosystem; Perform system upgrades, version patching, & performance tuning, ensuring that systems remain stable, secure, & optimized; System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Monitor system operation to detect problems & ensure high availability of all systems; Identify system data, hardware, or software components req’d to meet user needs & implement solutions for improving system performance; Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, & optimize system operations to ensure business continuity; Custom Process Improvement: Develop & maintain dynamic/static templates, custom protocols, & advanced routes using Sterling File Gateway & Integrator; Use scripting languages-PL/SQL, ESQL, Java, & Shell Scripts to customize workflows, implement custom solutions, & streamline integration processes; Drive CI initiatives to optimize B2B processes, enhance system performance, reduce errors, & automate tasks, contributing to operational efficiency; Tech Guidance & Collab: Provide tech guidance & support for development & troubleshooting of systems, offering expertise on encryption tech-PGP & security best practices; Communicate effectively w/ cross-functional teams & external vendors to implement integration solutions & ensure alignment w/ business goals; Work w/ stakeholders to define system req’mts, scope, & design specs, & ensure that implementations meet both tech & business expectations; Incident & Change Mgmt: Utilize ITSM tools (ServiceNow) to manage incident & change mgmt workflows, ensuring that systems are updated & maintained to meet evolving business req’mts; Implement & manage changes to EDI maps (X12, EDIFACT, XML, CSV) to accommodate business req’mts & industry standards; Documentation & Reporting: Document system design specs, implementation steps, & troubleshooting procedures for projects, ensuring records for future reference & audits; Produce & deliver tech reports, white papers, & project plans that communicate progress, challenges, & recommendations to key stakeholders; May perform some or all of above tasks depending on scope of each project assignment; Relocation to various unanticipated client sites across USA required up to 4 times per year.

Requirements

Applicants need to have a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equiv.) in Computer Science or any IT related field, any Engineering/Technology field, or related & 5 yrs of experience in Systems Engineering, including 2 yrs in job offered w/ following technologies:  B2B Tech: Sterling Integrator, Sterling File Gateway, Sterling Secure Proxy, MyFileGateway, and Secure File Transfer Protocols (AS2, FTP/S, SFTP, MQ, PGP Encryption); Databases: Oracle, MySQL, DB2, SQL Server; Scripting & Development: PL/SQL, ESQL, Java, Shell Script; Web Services & Integration: REST, SOAP, XML, XSLT, API Development; Cloud Platforms: Azure, OpenShift; Tools: GitHub, CICD Pipelines; EDI Standards: X12, EDIFACT, SAP IDocs, CSV; ITSM tools: ServiceNow.
