Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring 1 year of recent specialty experience and an active RN license (compact or ID)

Details

• Med/Surg unit (Cost Center 610) within a hospital setting
• 39-bed unit staffed with approximately 60 team members
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 7 RNs, 3 CNAs, and 1 unit secretary
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 CNAs
• Patient ratios are 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift
• Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Arjo lifts, and Novastat equipment, with computers in every room
• EMR system is Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work two weekends per month
• On-call only required during low patient volume
• Floating required to Surg/Ortho and Rehab units

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or Idaho state license)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• Strong communication and time management skills required
• Medication safety compliance of at least 98% required for safe scanning and administration
• Flexibility to work day or night shifts preferred
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSNs not accepted)
• One professional reference required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit alongside a collaborative care team
• Best fit for candidates with a friendly, team-oriented personality who build strong personal connections with patients and staff
• Navy blue scrubs required per facility dress code
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as no local candidates will be considered
