The ideal candidate will value developing meaningful, long-term relationships with the individuals and families we serve. Position Overview As an SLP in our Article 16 Clinic, you will provide function‑based, habilitative services aligned with OPWDD standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and re-evaluations Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans focused on functional communication. Provide interventions targeting expressive and receptive language, pragmatic/social communication, ACC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication), feeding and swallowing (if applicable). Implement evidence-based, person-centered strategies Collaborate with Interdisciplinary team members (OT, PT, Psychology, and Social Work) Train caregivers and staff to support carryover of communication strategies Maintain a structured caseload and meet productivity expectations Complete documentation in compliance with Article 16, Medicaid, and OMIG standards. Participate in quality improvement and clinical team initiatives This role emphasizes habilitative therapy. Education and Experience Requirements Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. NYS SLP License (Required) CCC‑SLP Experience with developmental disabilities, autism, or IDD preferred Experience with AAC and/or feeding therapy preferred Qualifications and Knowledge Valid Driver’s License Strong clinical reasoning and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Desire a work setting that encourages creativity, curiosity and relationships Ability to apply and integrate academic knowledge with provision of speech therapy treatment. Knowledge of ethical and legal practices and the New York State Education Dept.’s Division of Professional Licensing "Speech-Language Therapy Guide to Practice". Demonstrate appropriate/professional interpersonal skills with agency personnel, individuals, and their families. Communicates verbally and/or in written form clearly, ethically, and professionally, with staff, parents, and physicians. Excellent organizational & time management skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment. Strong collaboration skills. Exceptional problem solving skills, including a proactive approach to problem solving and the ability to make quick and independent decisions in response to changing conditions. Demonstrates motivation to augment current level of knowledge and practice through participation in continuing education courses, as required by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and/or New York State Education Department. Proficient with Internet Explorer; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Word; and Windows Operating System.
