Game Manager

Job Description Position: Game Manager (Temporary) Location: Hedgesville Middle, Hedgesville, West Virginia Starting Date: To Be Determined Responsibilities Assist the athletic director/principal in setting up and supervising athletic contests during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Set up and take down equipment for the field/court, including press box, scorer’s table, lights, concession stand, restrooms, bleachers, storage, etc. Set up ticket booths and handle tickets, cash box, and appropriate forms. Welcome game officials and escort them to their dressing room before and after the contest and at halftime. Pay officials by check when they arrive at the contest site. Welcome opponents to the school and escort them to their locker room, provide instructions, and attend to opponents before and after the contest. Meet security and position security for crowd control; keep in contact with security during and after the contest to maintain crowd control. Monitor crowd during the contest and take appropriate actions to maintain crowd control. Monitor and position support personnel: announcer, clock operator, scorekeeper, chain crew, medical/ambulance personnel, parking, etc. Arrive at least one and one-half hours before the contest begins (unless otherwise instructed). Be the last to leave after opponents, officials departed, security secured the area, field/courts secured, and janitors begun cleanup. Assume other duties assigned by the principal and/or athletic director. Qualifications High School Diploma required. Teacher certification preferred.
