This Opportunity WSP is seeking an Associate Geologist with 1 or more years of consulting experience to join our Pacific Northwest Site Investigation & Remediation Team in our Tigard, OR office. We offer flexible working arrangements to help with work/life balance, and the position involves local, regional, and nationwide projects. The team provides environmental remediation and related services to a diverse set of clients, including industrial/commercial companies, local and state agencies, and the federal government. Project locations vary and our staff includes in‑house experts in chemistry, risk assessment, data management, graphics/GIS, engineering, and industrial hygiene. The role requires a self‑motivated candidate who can work as part of local, regional, or national project teams. Your Impact Help solve problems and document solutions, express ideas through strong technical writing and verbal communication, and support technical reports, plans, and calculations in a consulting environment. Work on a variety of multidisciplinary projects, with substantial emphasis on soil, soil vapor/gas, groundwater, surface water, and stormwater investigations and remediation systems; chemical fate and transport assessment; hazardous waste management; permitting; and site planning. Be a member of teams providing environmental consulting services to commercial and government clients. Perform technical tasks under oversight of more experienced technical reviewers/directors as appropriate. Possess knowledge and technical skills in Federal, Oregon, and Washington regulations. Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications B.S. or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline. Minimum 1 or more years post‑education environmental consulting experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Consistent and highly accurate project work. Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills. Comfortable working within both small and large project teams to achieve objectives. Ability to work in industrial and field environments as well as in the office. Flexible to work outside of business hours, when necessary. Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Ability to travel based on project‑specific requirements. The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Professional registration in Oregon or Washington (preferably both) if a Geologist/Hydrogeologist. Master’s Degree preferred. 40‑Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) preferred. Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired. Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $63,700 – $80,500.
