Headquartered in Austin, TX, DFS has a significant technology development and manufacturing presence worldwide, including facilities in Brazil, China, India, Italy, Poland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States.Job DescriptionThe Test Technician II will work in a team-based manufacturing environment performing a wide variety of semi-repetitive or unique precision test and assembly operations where methods and sequence of testing are described by production drawings or detailed written instructions.ResponsibilitiesPerform final acceptance testing and certain in-process testing of chargers and sub-components, assemblies and/or systems in a production environmentRecognize and utilize all safety hazard controlsUse and maintain prescribed personal protective equipmentWork to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instructionsAssist engineers with troubleshooting test failures, and with determining root cause and corrective actionsTest a variety of systems including, but not limited to: medium to high voltage systemsResponsible for test setup (e.g. - cabling, clamping, fixturing, instrumentation, piping, etc.) and teardown of test piecesPerform quality control visual inspections, and functional operations of material and product before and after assemblyPerform troubleshooting and understand test failuresOn a limited basis, maintain production test equipment including troubleshooting, minor repairs and preventative maintenanceActivate controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical power and subject test item to successive steps in test cycleEnsure finished products meet quality standardsUtilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to check the electrical and mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure compliancePerform troubleshooting activities related to wiring or assemblies to ensure compliance with Company Quality standardsMaintain logs on device inspection itemsVerify materials to drawings and/or Bill of MaterialsEnsure all product is produced in a timely mannerPerform the full range of duties necessary to test and diagnose units from other zonesPromote zone safety hazard avoidance according to training provided, and PPE usageExecute and engage other peers in housekeeping responsibilities (6S experience) that are consistent with manufacturing initiativesDrives quality and continuous improvement initiatives as they relate to the tasks in their respective zoneRequirements & QualificationsOSHA 11 Certification is a plusExperience maintaining industrial 3 phase power systemsAssociate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in Electrical Technology or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience, 4-5 years.Ability to read engineering drawings is mandatoryDemonstrate experience in work environment of high voltage and power (240V to 480V; 30 to 100Amp)High level of accuracy; keen attention to detailAbility and willingness to stand for a minimum of 10 hours per day, and lift up to 40lbs unassisted as requiredExperience using hand and torque driven toolsIntermediate PC skills and ability to navigate programs used by the Company for training and/or communication purposesAbility to follow both verbal and written instructions in EnglishAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environmentCustomer focused, both internal and externalDemonstrated ability to grasp and execute process-related activitiesRead and interpret drawings or standard work instructionsAbility to handle additional PPEs required for the Test Stand activitiesMandatory At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is requiredAt least 5 years of experience in wiring assemblyAt least 5 years of experience in troubleshooting productsAt least 5 years of experience in testing large industrial electric components or machinesWork Arrangement: OnsiteBonus Eligible: This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.We consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position's responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, a candidate's education/training, the position's location, and the key skills needed for the position.
