Summary Statement : This position is responsible for the uptime of all the machinery in the plant. The performance and effectiveness of the individual in this position will be measured by the percentage of Limble recording, machine up time, the frequency of breakdowns, production equipment slowdowns or other maintenance related production interruptions. Timely and accurate decision-making is crucial. Staying on top of the condition of the machinery in the plant always is of utmost importance. For job performance to be maximized several duties and responsibilities are essential.

• Analytical & reasoning skills are very important.

Education & Experience:

• A 2-year technical degree, or equivalent experience is required.
• Machine troubleshooting and repair experience in a metal forming environment is required.
• Experience in a maintenance department or maintenance capacity.
• Plant Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is needed.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills for same equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Safety is first and most important. The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for the whole of the shop.
• Maintaining the conformance of the Lock-Out / Tag-Out program during routine maintenance of machines and during special uncommon repairs.
• Continual monitoring and involvement with the Limble system.
• Responsible for the up-time and set-up of all the machinery for the plant.
• Monitor that the “Preventive Maintenance” program is completed timely and recorded.
• Develop “Parts & Supply Stocking Program” to support PM program & typical equipment & machine repairs.
• Coordinate & supervise the training of associates that operate equipment and machinery as needed to support the production effort & respect the maintenance program.
• Ensuring that the Operators & Maintenance department has the tools needed to do their jobs.
• Install new equipment and machines, and supporting racking, material handling equipment and other process related tools as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring that machine is capable to meet product quality standards and that the set-up of the machine meets those standards.
• Responsibility and authority to stop production when product quality does not meet the requirements, or equipment operation is not safe, or not functioning properly.
• The third shift maintenance technician will be required to come in at 9:00PM on Sundays to power up lights, air compressors, and to make sure the machinery is ready for production by 10:00PM.

Physical Demand:

• The physical demands are high; the ability to lift, move, reach is significant, determination and stamina are highly regarded in this position.
• The work environment is safe and clean, but a keen sense of safety is needed when working on machines & it can be dirty at these times.
