VP - Capital Formation/Fundraising/Investor Relations

Vice President, Capital Formation & Communications (for a growing private credit firm) Position Overview The Vice President, Capital Formation & Communications will support the firm’s efforts to expand and maintain relationships with institutional investors, prospective capital partners, and other important external stakeholders. The position combines investor relations, capital raising support, marketing, and corporate communications, with responsibility for developing materials and initiatives that strengthen fundraising efforts and enhance the firm’s market presence. This individual will work closely with senior leadership and the investment organization and will have significant visibility across the platform. The role requires someone who can move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands‑on execution, communicate effectively with sophisticated financial audiences, and take ownership of projects in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. Key Responsibilities Capital Formation & Investor Engagement Support the development and execution of capital formation strategies designed to expand investor relationships and generate new opportunities. Work directly with investment professionals to translate investment strategies and portfolio activity into compelling investor messaging. Coordinate fundraising initiatives, including investor presentations, pitch books, marketing materials, and virtual data room content. Help identify new ways to engage prospective and existing investors through targeted campaigns and differentiated content. Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners involved in fundraising and business development activities. Assist with preparation for investor meetings, due diligence processes, conferences, and other capital formation initiatives. Marketing, Branding & Content Help establish a consistent and professional brand across investor communications, digital channels, presentations, and other external materials. Develop and refine written content for marketing collateral, investor presentations, firm communications, and other business development materials. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external creative resources on presentation design, graphics, and other marketing deliverables. Bring an investor-focused and digital-oriented perspective to the firm’s marketing strategy. Translate complex investment concepts and financial information into concise, engaging content for external audiences. Digital & Social Media Oversee the corporate social media calendar, including content development, review, approvals, and publication. Coordinate content for the firm’s corporate presence and selected senior-level spokespeople. Manage LinkedIn campaigns, sponsored content, audience engagement, and related performance initiatives. Monitor digital activity and identify opportunities to improve the firm’s visibility and engagement with relevant audiences. Investor Communications & Email Marketing Assist in developing and distributing investor newsletters, announcements, updates, and other electronic communications. Manage audience segmentation, distribution lists, personalization, and campaign execution. Coordinate communications through marketing automation and customer relationship management platforms. Ensure investor communications are accurate, timely, appropriately targeted, and aligned with the firm’s broader messaging. Marketing Analytics & Reporting Establish and monitor KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing, communications, and investor engagement efforts. Analyze information from platforms such as Salesforce and Google Analytics to identify trends, measure engagement, and support decision-making. Develop recurring reporting packages and dashboards covering marketing and investor communications activity. Build analytical frameworks that help connect marketing initiatives with investor engagement and capital formation objectives. Translate campaign and engagement data into actionable observations for senior stakeholders. Serve as a central project manager for fundraising and investor-related initiatives, coordinating timelines, deliverables, stakeholders, and follow‑up. Maintain the integrity and completeness of investor and marketing information across internal databases and reporting systems. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and reporting infrastructure. Participate in strategic and value‑enhancing projects across the broader business. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior professionals and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will bring a combination of financial‑services marketing expertise, strong communication skills, analytical ability, and demonstrated ownership of complex projects. Key attributes include: 5–10 years of experience in marketing, communications, investor relations, capital formation, or a related function, preferably within investment management, private credit, or alternative investments. Strong analytical skills and the ability to independently evaluate information, identify trends, and develop well‑reasoned conclusions. Experience creating investor presentations, fundraising materials, marketing campaigns, and corporate communications. Ability to distill sophisticated financial concepts and data into clear, concise, and compelling messaging. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to independently draft polished investor and marketing content. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to interact confidently with senior executives, investors, and other external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality work under tight deadlines. Comfortable working independently and taking ownership in a small, fast‑moving organization. Strong business judgment, attention to detail, and professional presence. Creative, proactive, and solutions‑oriented approach to problem solving. Interest in coaching and developing junior team members. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Salesforce, Google Analytics, Pardot/Account Engagement, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Adobe InDesign or Illustrator is advantageous. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience. At least 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally within asset management, private credit, alternative investments, investor relations, marketing, or capital formation. Demonstrated experience supporting fundraising, investor engagement, or external communications within a financial‑services environment.
