Surgical TechnologistThe Surgical Technologist serves as a primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures. Responsibilities include scrubbing into cases, ensuring instruments and supplies are available for the scheduled case, setting up cases and ensuring that all instruments are thoroughly sterilized, maintaining the sterile field during case setup, alerting the circulating nurse of any identified risks or variance from standard operating procedures, passing instruments and assisting the physician as needed, applying electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon, responsible for instrument, sponge, and sharps counts, maintaining the sterile field throughout the case, draping and assisting the circulating RN with patient positioning, collaborating with the circulating nurse to carry out appropriate interventions, post-case cleaning duties, gross decontamination of instruments including breaking down instruments for further cleaning, following all standards for instrument transport and return, notifying the appropriate leader of any damaged instruments at the end of the case, ensuring the surgical suite is disinfected and ready for the next procedure, checking par levels and ensuring the room is fully stocked for the next case, completing all mandatory hospital education, maintaining compliance with all HR and Employee Health requirements, following all safe practices in the OR and completing the age-specific annual assessment of competency documents, practicing effective, clear, and respectful communications and demonstrating attentiveness through active listening and engaged body language, collaborating, respecting, and cooperating with all coworkers, valuing differences and addressing concerns directly while actively contributing to the team's vision and results, warmly greeting all internal and external customers, promoting a high level of satisfaction by providing information and following up on questions and concerns.We offer competitive benefits, including:Medical, dental & vision insuranceFree and unlimited continuing education units (CEUs)24/7 dedicated Care Line and clinical liaison supportPersonalized career consultant and "single point of contact" serviceIndustry?leading pay rates, loyalty rewards & referral bonusesFree tax return assistance for travelers401(k) Retirement PlanHealth Savings Account (HSA)Disability Insurance (Short-Term and Long-Term)Life and AD&D InsurancePaid Sick Leave (where required by applicable state or local law)Supplemental Insurance PlansIdentity Theft ProtectionPet InsuranceEmployee Wellness ProgramsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Career Growth and Professional Development OpportunitiesBenefits eligibility, accrual rates, and usage limits may vary based on employment status, length of service, and work location.
