Details Work in a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with an average daily census of 33 Care for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics Unit utilizes remote telemetry with potential medical surgical diagnoses Patient ratio of 1:6 Charts in Epic and uses Pyxis and SBAR communication systems Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00 Required to work every other weekend unless otherwise specified Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed No call requirements 14-week assignment length Requirements Active GA or compact RN license required Current BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required Epic charting experience required Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response Experience with rapid response and code teams Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care and management Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use First-time travelers are accepted Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a busy Medical Surgical unit including cardiac monitoring and respiratory support Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergency situations Navy blue scrubs required Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assignment begins Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day) If one or two major holidays occur during the assignment, no holiday time off can be requested If three major holidays occur during the assignment, one holiday time off request may be considered Local candidates are accepted at the same rate Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler Travelers who cancel or are marked DNR by Piedmont must complete one assignment outside of Piedmont before reapplying American Traveler Job ID P-745904.
