About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years current Birthing Center experience License: Active Michigan License Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (preferred) Must-Have: Experience with laboring patients, delivery, and postpartum care. Prior travel experience preferred. Must have own vehicle. All requested time off must be included in profile submission. Description: Provide professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients using critical thinking and independent judgment. Utilize all phases of the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Be responsible for the direction and supervision of the nursing patient care team, typically made up of CNAs, LPNs, and other techs. Collaborate with team members and other disciplines in the provision of care. Document patient care, patient condition, and reactions to treatment in a timely manner. Track patient progress throughout the care process. Maintain a 1:1 RN to patient ratio for active labor, magnesium sulfate, and Pitocin induction of labor; 1:3 for couplets; and 1:2 for early labor patients. Engage in rotating holidays, weekends, and possible call duties.
