Pay Range: $35.81 - $53.72 per hour

The role involves performing therapeutic and diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures, delivering high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists and physicians.

• Operate cameras that detect and map radioactive substances in patients to produce diagnostic images.
• Accurately position patients and select appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
• Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals following established protocols.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and guidelines.
• Ensure timely submission of high-quality images and documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
• Maintain equipment functionality and report any issues to the relevant personnel; lock/tag out equipment when necessary.
• Assist in keeping the department clean and organized.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education: Completion of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program.

Experience: No prior experience is required.

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent use of vision for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
• Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication.
• Ability to distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or equipment malfunctions.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Regular lifting/moving of patients.
• Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements.
• Rarely kneeling or sitting.

For Illinois:

• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or
• ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) or
• Radiologic Technologists – Temporary Accreditation - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
