Pay: Up to $26/hour/ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3pIncluding but not limited to the following:/pulliBlood Collection: from adult and pediatric patients using vacutainer, syringe and butterfly techniques; capillary puncture using heel and fingerstick techniques./liliIdentifies and labels specimens appropriately./liliInstructs patients in regard to urine and stool collection procedures./liliEnters accessioning data into the computer./liliPrepares specimens for send out testing./liliInventories supplies and prepares phlebotomy stations to effectively collect blood./liliMaintains patient confidentiality./liliPerforms related work as required./li/ulh3Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:/h3ulliKnowledge of laboratory techniques to perform blood collection./liliKnowledge of container and minimum volume requirements for specimen collection./liliSkill in labeling and dispersing specimens to appropriate stations./liliSkill in interacting with patients representing a broad physical and socioeconomic spectrum. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, laboratory staff and medical staff./li/ulh3Typical Physical Demands:/h3ulliRequires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination./liliFrequent standing, walking and bending required for extended periods of time./liliMust be able to support the body weight of an adult patient when moving from a chair to an exam table./liliRequires visual acuity and normal color perception./li/ulh3Qualifications and Education:/h3ulliHigh School diploma or GED and on the job training./liliTwo years of phlebotomy required./li/ulpCertification from an accredited phlebotomy diploma program preferred./p/div
