SemiTorr Group, Inc. is a leading sales and distribution company for gas and fluid handling systems and components supporting the High Purity, Sanitary and Industrial markets. Our family of products includes process equipment, pumps, tubing, hoses, fittings, valves, filtration and instrumentation.

SemiTorr is a Subsidiary of FloWorks USA LP, which is a privately held company located in Houston, Texas.

Job Information

The Buyer is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies from vendors as well as evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers. 

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing the procurement queue and analyzing items for potential purchase
• Ensuring material is placed on order 
• Following up with vendors, sales and customers to confirm delivery, specifications, and pricing
• Coordinating flow of material from vendor to customer in a timely fashion
• Following up on any order changes, cancellations, process returns and cancellations fees 
• Evaluating daily purchasing reports, prioritizing purchase orders by critical need 
• Ensuring orders meet the optimal levels to maximize profit and sales
• Maintaining product line purchasing parameters to ensure daily purchasing reports are accurate as calculated by computerized inventory system
• Initiating and verifying price changes in the computer inventory system
• Monitoring open orders and maintaining projected delivery dates

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of computer-based inventory management systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with understanding of Microsoft Excel beyond beginner abilities
• Working knowledge of steel pipe, fitting and flange products.
• Have 2-4+ years’ experience in a related field

• Occasionally work near moving mechanical parts
• Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions
• Occasionally loud noise (examples: shop tool noises, electric motors, moving mechanical equipment)

Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers are used. Occasional visits to warehouses or operational sites may be required.
