Registered Behavior Technician

Job Summary The Behavior Technician implements positive programming to increase students behavioral and academic skills. See attached full job description for details. Qualifications Advanced degree from an accredited college preferred, or successfully pass ParaPathways exam Knows and understands district and behavior services policies and procedures Is knowledgeable in a variety of group and individual behavior management systems and character education programs PMT trained, understanding crisis prevention and verbal intervention/de-escalation techniques Knows and understands how to document interventions appropriately using all state/district forms (preferred) Certifications Registered Behavior Technician Credential must be obtained within 100 days of employment. Terms of Employment 10 months, 186 work days. Starting pay in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement is $21.00per hour withcomprehensive medical benefit package andtuition reimbursement. (for individuals with current Registered Behavior Technician Credential starting pay = $25.00 per hour) Internal Applicants Regular employees of the Torrington Public Schools who are current members of the Paraeducators' union. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Paraeducators shall not be eligible to apply for lateral positions that become vacant after August 15th.
