We work in teams that include doctors from the UW School of Medicine, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, residents (licensed physicians receiving advanced training), pharmacists, medical assistants, social workers, nutritionists, cultural case managers and interpreters./ph3Position Highlights/h3ulliConveniently located near public transportation/liliMake a difference for the patients and employees we serve/liliOpportunity to provide career growth/li/ulh3Primary Job Responsibilities/h3ulliRoom patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records/liliPerform injections/liliPrepare and clean exam rooms/liliSubmit medication prior authorizations/liliRecognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider/liliAct as a liaison between patient, patients family and providers/liliAssist provider with procedures and medical exams/liliPerform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values/liliAssist in transporting patients as required/li/ulh3Requirements/h3ulliCompletion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalent/liliMust be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
