Overview CS2W Community Outreach and Engagement Coordinator VISTA. Career Skills 2 Work is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of training and support services for civilians and Veterans alike, connecting students, career seekers, transitioning service members, and community members with career readiness tools, workforce development opportunities, educational resources, apprenticeships, internships, and community support systems that promote long-term success and economic stability. Our vision is to strengthen communities by reducing barriers to employment, economic hardship, and career access by helping individuals gain the skills, experience, and professional connections needed to succeed in today’s workforce. To achieve this vision, Career Skills 2 Work collaborates with schools, educational providers, workforce partners, employers, community organizations, and Veteran-serving agencies to provide career awareness, workforce training, job readiness preparation, resource navigation, mentoring, internships, apprenticeships, and pathways to sustainable employment. Responsibilities Member Duties: To support Career Skills 2 Work’s mission of expanding access to workforce development opportunities, career readiness training, and supportive community resources for civilians, Veterans, transitioning service members, students, and career seekers throughout Houston and Harris County. By assisting with the development and strengthening of outreach systems, workforce partnerships, and referral pathways, the VISTA member will help increase organizational capacity to connect individuals with education, hands-on training, internships, apprenticeships, and sustainable employment opportunities.
