Senior System Analyst Validation Engineer (VST)

Stellantis is seeking a System Analyst Validation Engineer (VST) who will be responsible for understanding the development, design, and interactions of electrical and electronic systems within vehicles, including automotive body, audio, active chassis, and/or safety systems. The engineer will be responsible for developing and leading automated stress testing at the vehicle and subsystem levels. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive technology, specification analysis, and system operation, along with strong analytical skills, to ensure that systems meet defined design expectations.The engineer will work with the validation teams to ensure the reliability and performance of automotive systems by analyzing test results, troubleshooting and reproducing issues, and resolving issues related to component and system performance. This includes identifying the root causes of all issues and leading collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions. The engineer will be required to present status updates to leadership and escalate critical issues and risks. The engineer will also be expected to lead selected team initiatives, provide technical direction and coordinate validation and issue-resolution activities.The engineer will require an in-depth understanding of CAN/LIN and extensive experience using CAN/LIN testing tools (CANoe simulation) and traditional electrical testing equipment (voltage testing, etc.) in an electrical laboratory environment. These tools will be used to test and troubleshoot vehicle systems and identify the root causes of issues on some or all of the following test properties: plywood buck, vehicle hardware-in-the-loop (VHIL), subsystem hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and/or vehicles.This role requires close collaboration with feature owners, engineering, extended teams, and suppliers to develop a strong understanding of EE functions, identify defects early, and provide evidence of defect elimination. The engineer will also provide feedback on test plans and procedures to support continuous improvement.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.A minimum of 8 years of experience in automotive electrical systems design, development, or validation.Experience leading root cause investigations by analyzing test results, reproducing issues, and identifying underlying causes of automotive electrical and electronic system defects.Must have a valid driver's license, willing and able to drive and test vehicles, able to obtain a chauffeur's license to drive heavy duty pick-up trucks.Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (Canada/Mexico) up to 10%.Execute test procedures in alignment with test EE Validation guidelines and strategy.Analyze test execution results to generate reports, document incidents, and drive them to resolution through detailed system analysis.Troubleshoot ECUs, System HIL and test environment functionality to minimize false positive incident reports.Implement continuous improvement strategies for test design and execution processes.Document test environment, automation, and vehicle configuration requirements.Experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, CAN diagnostic tools (CANoe/CANalyzer), current probes and other diagnostic equipment including voltage Testing, etc.Familiarity with Over The Air updates (FOTA, AOTA, MOTA, xOTA, etc.)Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited university.EE Validation Hardware-in-the-Loop testing on Body, Chassis, and other vehicle electrical systems.Demonstrated experience with CAN scripting and automation tools (CAPL, python) for automotive testing.Demonstrated knowledge of CAN bus and experience using Vector CAN tools (CAN diagnostic tools, CANoe, CANalyzer.)Demonstrated experience with electrical debugging tools such as a digital multi-meter, oscilloscope, current probes, and other diagnostic equipment.Demonstrated experience performing vehicle and system level validation.Demonstrated experience with DFMEA and DVP&R processes.Trained in DVP (Design Validation Plan) and DFMEA (Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis).Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and to debug CAN and CAN FD communication buses.Certified problem-solving skills (Reactive Quality Green Belt or Reactive Quality Black Belt).Demonstrated system or component automated bench testing design experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Our Benefits — Designed with You in MindComprehensive Health & Well-being CoverageFrom your very first day, you'll have access to medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage — ensuring you and your family stay healthy and protected.Generous Paid Time OffWe believe in work-life balance.
