Please see Special Instructions for more details. The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position. Part‑time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year‑round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool. Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report are the employee’s responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job. Position Information Job Title: Part Time – Psychology Instructor Location: Woodland Community College – Woodland, CA Basic Function Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Psychology courses up to 10 hours/week. Organize and teach all levels of Psychology classes. Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses. Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester. Participate in department, division, and college‑wide initiatives and committees if desired. Required Duties Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications Master’s in psychology OR Bachelor’s in psychology AND Master’s in counseling, sociology, statistics, neuroscience, or social work OR the equivalent. EQUIVALENCY REQUIREMENT: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District (YCCD) by the application filing date. Desired/Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Psychology to community college students.
