Job Title: Team Member or Team Captain

Location: Smoothie King, 2071 W Millbrook Rd, Suite 111, Raleigh, NC 27612 (Opening 1-Oct-2026)

 

Position Summary

At Smoothie King, our mission is to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle. We are looking for energetic, dependable individuals to join our brand-new Raleigh location!

You will be considered for either a Team Member or a Team Captain position depending on your past experience, leadership potential, and personality.

• As a Team Member: You will focus on delivering outstanding guest service, taking accurate orders, and preparing high-quality smoothies and bowls according to brand standards. No prior experience is required—we provide full training!
• As a Team Captain (Shift Leader): You will take on all Team Member responsibilities while also stepping up as the shift leader. You will run daily shifts, delegate tasks, coach the team, and support the General Manager in maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

For All Team Professionals (Core Duties)

• Guest Service: Greet every guest with enthusiasm, take accurate orders on the POS system, recommend add-ons, and promote the Smoothie King Rewards App.
• Food Preparation & Operations: Prepare smoothies, smoothie bowls, and food items strictly according to recipes. Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Daily Maintenance: Prep ingredients, restock supplies, rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out), and complete opening, shift, and closing cleaning checklists.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and professional appearance.

Extra Responsibilities for Team Captains (Shift Leadership)

• Shift Operations: Lead daily shift operations, conduct pre-shift huddles, assign team positions, and delegate tasks.
• Coaching & Development: Train, mentor, and coach Team Members throughout the shift while reinforcing Smoothie King recipes and service standards.
• Service Recovery: Act as the final check for order quality and handle/resolve guest concerns using approved service recovery techniques.
• Financial & Inventory Controls: Build daily prep lists based on sales projections, assist with cash handling, drawer counts, refunds, and POS transactions.

Which Path Fits You?

We evaluate applicants based on two distinct pathways:

Path A: Team Member

Perfect for: Entry-level applicants, students, or those looking to learn the ropes of customer service in a high-energy environment.

• Minimum age of 16.
• Friendly, dependable, and highly customer-focused.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Preferred but not required: Previous restaurant/retail experience or an interest in health and fitness.

Path B: Team Captain

Perfect for: Natural leaders, organized problem-solvers, or those with prior customer service experience who are ready to take the next step in their career.

• Minimum age of 16.
• At least 6 months of restaurant, retail, or customer service experience.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and task delegation skills.
• Preferred: Previous leadership or shift lead experience.

General Requirements for Both Roles

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to thrive and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 lbs., and work safely around kitchen equipment.
