Job Summary


Our client is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide a professional and positive registration experience for patients and visitors. The primary responsibilities include registering patients, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate patient records within the electronic health record system.


Key Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and visitors, providing a professional and positive registration experience.
• Register patients for various services and verify required information.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient demographic, insurance, and registration information.
• Verify insurance coverage and complete necessary payer notifications and authorizations.
• Obtain and document patient signatures for relevant documentation.
• Update patient records and resolve missing or incomplete information.
• Assist patients with navigating the facility and direct them to appropriate care areas.
• Complete assigned training and department learning requirements.
• Provide support and guidance to team members while promoting collaboration.
• Perform additional registration and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of hospital operations, patient access workflows, and registration procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient in data entry into electronic platforms.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred (approx. 3+ months).
• Experience using electronic health record systems, familiarity with Cerner Millennium is an asset.
