Santa Fe Ave Rancho Dominguez, CA 90221, USA Job Overview To manage and oversee the manufacturing aspects of a designated area or function and achieve continuous and efficient production in desired quantity and quality to meet budgeted requirements. Essential Functions Exercise direct supervision over departmental supervisors to achieve production volume, cost and quality of production, and meet production schedules and delivery dates. Plan production schedule for the designated manufacturing area in an effort to meet the shipping schedule set by production control. Work with production control to insure parts, process sheets and raw materials are to the department for scheduled start of jobs. Accountable for maintaining discipline in accordance with company policy and for maintaining health and safety regulations and their enforcement. Participate in the decision making process for improvements to hold down scrap and requirements. Recommend suggestions for process improvement that would improve the efficiency of production and the manufacture of quality products to applicable personnel. Coach supervisors to improve their supervisory skills and improve their training and upgrading skills of operators to improve quality and efficiency. Support the administrative function by providing required paperwork or forms in a timely manner and support the maintenance department in the predictive/preventative maintenance program. Follow and administer budgets and determined and set by Plant Manager. Prepare reports outlining progress as it pertains to departmental budget guidelines. Utilize the annual evaluation process as a communication tool with employees for goal setting and development programs. Experience / Training / Education Required: Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university and three to five years of related manufacturing experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Desirable: Experience working with bearings. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must have knowledge of Database Software, Manufacturing Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing software. Physical and Environmental Elements While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Special Requirements / Certification Some travel may be required to visit customers or suppliers. This is an exempt position and hours will vary depending on business needs; some Saturdays will be required. Compensation MIN/MAX: $107k-$118k **Please note that the salary range information is only applicable to California.
