Assistant Underwriter for Wholesale Insurance Company

Overview We are seeking an underwriting assistant candidate who can manage a substantial book of renewal business while handling tasks associated with new and renewal accounts. This would be an office role in Tallahassee with a salary range of $45-$50k. The successful candidate understands the importance of personal responsibility and resourcefulness. Responsibilities Prioritize tasks so that work is completed quickly and at the highest quality Own processes, tasks, and issues from start to finish Be open to learning new ways of working Produce error-free work Be receptive to constructive criticism to continually improve quality Instill a sense of urgency in self and in others Be a self-starter with high initiative and effective time/workload management Create trust through transparent practices such as sharing information and honest communication Be definite and decisive, while remaining flexible when appropriate Qualifications Property & Casualty License required, or agreement to obtain within 3-6 months of employment Valid driver’s license and insurance Strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Able to work independently and engage with the team Self-motivated and driven, with a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle sensitive information with discretion Location and compensation This is an office role in Tallahassee with a salary range of $45-$50k.
