SPEECH AND LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Westfield Public Schools is seeking qualified applicants for an open Speech and Language Pathologist position for the 2026-2027 school year.

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the authorized administrators shall:

1. Serve as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
2. Provide a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and hearing handicapped children.
3. Provide a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, hearing and language impairments upon request.
4. Provide appropriate individualized programs of therapy to meet individual students' needs and correct existing speech or language handicaps.
5. Confer with principals, teachers and parents frequently regarding the student's progress.
6. Provide in-service education and serve as a consultant to teachers and school staff members on topics concerning speech improvement.
7. Keep and maintain thorough pertinent records.
8. Assist in screening procedures.
9. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of schools.

REPORTS TO:
Building Principal


The salary and terms of employment will be commensurate with the Westfield Public Schools Unit A collective bargaining agreement. Salary placement will be based on the information contained in the application as submitted.
If hired, qualified applicants may receive a five thousand dollar ($5,000.00) hiring bonus.
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.
This position is subject to funding.
