Police Officer - (Non-Certified) Testing

Alabaster Police Department Alabaster Police Department is seeking elite candidates with a strong desire to protect and serve the community. Non-Certified Police Candidate Testing Only candidates who qualify to attend APOST Academy are considered. Application Special Instructions Testing will be held on 5/22/2026 at 8:00 a.m. at the APD building located at 100 11th Ave Southwest, Alabaster 35007. All candidates must take a basic written test and score 70 or higher to progress to the Physical Agility Test. Closed‑toed shoes required. APOST has adopted the Basic Abilities Test (Work Keys Assessment) for all candidates that do not hold an associate degree or higher. Non‑Certified candidates without an associate degree must register at Jeffstate.edu to sit for the Work Keys assessment prior to an offer of a position. Salary and Pay $24.82 per hour starting pay as a recruit. $27.37 per hour after completion of APOST Academy.
