This position requires performing computerized tomographic procedures on patients, ensuring adherence to radiation protection safety standards. Key Responsibilities of the CT Technologist

• Perform computed tomography scanning procedures with attention to technical detail
• Operate control console and select proper imaging techniques
• Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring optimal performance
• Position patients for scans and ensure their safety and comfort
• Provide explanations of procedures and address patient queries
• Record significant anatomical data and apply radiographic protection principles
• Assist physicians with monitoring and treatment during procedures
• Comply with hospital infection control policies and fire/disaster plans

Requirements of the CT Technologist

• High school graduate or GED
• Graduate of an AMA Accredited Radiography Program
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Valid Massachusetts State License in Radiation Control
• Certification from an accredited CT program or ARRT-registered in CT
• 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist or 1 year current CT experience
• Current BLS certification
