About the Position
Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in ICU nursing - Code Blue Command experience is a plus - Phlebotomy experience is beneficial - Ability to run codes and titrate drips - Familiarity with Meditech is advantageous Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The ICU has 8 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3, depending on patient acuity. Common diagnoses include sepsis, general medical, general surgical, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, and post-cath recovery. ICU nurses are responsible for running codes; the unit has tele nurses who can assist during a code. Nurses are expected to titrate medications including Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, and TNK, along with some medication mixing. Charge nurses take patient assignments, and there is a nursing supervisor on duty. Care support staff, including a unit secretary and CNA, are available when needed. Clientist coverage is provided 24/7. Nurses are responsible for telemetry strips with no monitor tech available. Travel experience in ICU is highly preferred. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. There may be floating requirements to med-surg, tele, or ER environments. Scrub colors are professional and any color is acceptable. Department-specific orientation and resource support for documentation are provided. All travelers with previous employment at the facility must disclose it.
