Why Drive for Smokey Point Distributing?

At Smokey Point Distributing, drivers aren't an afterthought - they're the reason the company exists. Founded by drivers 40 years ago, SPD was built on firsthand experience with what it takes to succeed behind the wheel, and that mindset still shapes how the company treats its team today.

As a flatbed team driver, you'll haul unique freight, run modern equipment, and get the respect and earning potential a professional deserves.

CDL-A Team Driver Job Overview

Hit the road with the right partner. Bring your pre-existing team or let Smokey Point match you with a compatible teammate based on location, schedule, and lifestyle for a smooth, long-term fit.
Team pay built to add up. Earn up to $130,000 per year per driver with base pay of 68-74CPM combined per truck for all miles on every load.*
Bonuses that add up. Sign-on bonus, layover pay, detention pay, and clean inspection incentives available to reward performance and time on the road.*
Freight that rewards the skill. Haul unique flatbed freight that puts your experience to work.
Modern trucks, road-ready comfort. Drive late-model Kenworth and Volvo trucks equipped with APUs, inverters, and refrigerators built for comfort and reliability on long hauls.

Benefits & Perks

Paid to get started. Paid orientation covers your travel, accommodations, and meals as you get rolling with SPD.
Coverage that backs you up. Affordable medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family, plus HSA/FSA and prescription drug coverage.
Built for the long run. Paid vacation, a 401(k) with company match, and referral bonuses help you plan for the road ahead and beyond it.
Extra support on the road. Fuel cards and pet & rider policies help make life on the road easier and more flexible.

All pay and bonus amounts may vary by job type, location, experience level, and performance and are subject to change based on company discretion. Base pay for team positions is 34-37CPM per driver.
