Government Relations Student Worker

The Government Relations Student Worker will assist the Office of Government Relations with various voting initiative tasks, including voter registration drives at Liberty University. The role requires presence on campus during each shift and will run from the start of the Fall semester until the end of the academic year. Responsibilities Assist in conducting voter registration drives at on‑campus locations and university events. Meticulously review completed voter registration applications to ensure accuracy per state and federal regulations. Collaborate effectively with coworkers assisting in voter registration efforts. Maintain adequate communication among Government Relations and the university community regarding initiatives and ongoing work. Follow instructions and communicate messaging that corresponds with job duties. Comply with all state and federal laws, and university policies and procedures. Serve the university community with a friendly and servant‑oriented mindset. Complete additional projects and tasks as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled at Liberty University. Ability to handle multiple tasks and follow instructions. Experience in customer service or office work. Ability to articulate and defend Liberty University’s Christian mission to diverse audiences. Flexibility to work a schedule that may include days, evenings, and weekends. Must pass background checks, including without limitation a check at initial employment. No convictions or findings of fraud involving government funds, and no default on federal student or parent loans. Abilities & Competencies Communication and Comprehension : Effectively communicate verbally and in writing; resolve issues courteously. Public Communication : Represent Liberty University professionally to business and community stakeholders. Self‑motivation and Multitasking : Display organization and problem‑solving skills. Problem Solving : Reason, analyze information, and apply judgment to solve routine and complex problems. Working Conditions The role is part‑time and located onsite in a climate‑controlled office, with occasional outdoor work at campus events. Regularly required to hear, speak, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 15 pounds. Requires background check compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
