Our initial focus is developing COMP360 psilocybin, a proprietary, investigational, synthetic psilocybin treatment under evaluation for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We are leading the world's largest classic psychedelic clinical program in TRD, and building upon that robust foundation, we are executing a late-stage trial evaluating COMP360 for PTSD.The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) at Compass Pathways is a core member of the Medical Affairs organization, connecting the company's science with the broader mental health and neuroscience community, helping to shape medical strategy, and supporting the continued development of Compass Pathways' work in treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).This role is responsible for developing and managing a geographic territory and serving as a key scientific point of contact through both virtual and face-to-face interactions. The ideal candidate is passionate about a field-based role establishing themselves as a key point of scientific contact, actively engaging in high-quality scientific exchange and gathering insights from the field on emerging research, changes in the treatment landscape, and evolving approaches to care.Location: Field based in Minneapolis, MN; Des Moines, IA or Omaha, NE.Reports to: Director, Medical Science Liaison.Roles and responsibilities (include but are not limited to):Develop and maintain scientifically grounded relationships with healthcare professionals, researchers, and thought leaders across neuroscience and mental healthcare within the assigned territoryLead in-depth, compliant scientific conversations focused on disease understanding, research methodology, and emerging evidence in treatment-resistant depression and PTSDAnticipate and address scientific questions from external stakeholders by providing accurate, balanced medical information in response to unsolicited requestsCollect, analyze, and communicate medical insights from the field to internal stakeholders to inform clinical development, medical strategy, and educational planningMaintain a high level of scientific expertise in relevant therapeutic areas, competitive landscape, and emerging research through continuous -- sometimes self-guided -- learningContribute to the planning and execution of medical education activities, advisory boards, and scientific congress engagements and presentationsUphold all ethical, regulatory, and compliance requirements in the conduct of field medical activitiesCollaborate cross-functionally with internal partners (e.g., Clinical Development, Government Affairs, Market Access)Provide training to eventual sales and marketing teamsFor Senior MSLs: mentor and coach junior MSLs, support onboarding and training efforts, and contribute to broader medical affairs initiatives or special projectsCandidate profile:Advanced scientific training with associated credentials (e.g., PhD, PharmD, PMHNP, MD)Previous MSL experience is strongly preferredPreference for candidates with background/experience in neuroscience, psychiatry or psychologyAbility to travel up to 75%, including overnight stays and weekends, as neededCandidate must reside within the geographic areaEngaging and expert communicator of scientific information and representing core values to a diverse array of audiencesExcellent verbal and written communication, listening skills, and emotional intelligenceProven experience of self-motivation, accountability, integrity & teamworkPassion for improving and transforming mental health – full alignment with Compass' valuesCompensation Description (annually):Our compensation package for permanent hires includes base salary, discretionary bonus, and equity, alongside our comprehensive benefits offering.Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.Base salary per annum: $170,000 —$230,000 USDBenefits:For an overview of our benefits package and compensation information, please visit "Joins us - Our Benefits".These include flexibility & generous time off, parental & reproductive support, health & medical, mental health & wellbeing and Financial health.Equal opportunities:Reasonable accommodation We are committed to building a workplace where everyone's wellbeing matters.
