POSITION SUMMARY: The Surveyor/Implementer reports to the Site Manager where applicable and otherwise to the Executive Director and Managing Director of Healthy Communities – Permian Basin. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, in collaboration with The Beacon Alliance and the Permian Strategic Partnership, is leading a population health initiative to improve the health and well-being of rural communities across the Permian Basin (West Texas and Southeast New Mexico).
The Healthy Communities – Permian Basin program seeks to assess the prevalence of undiagnosed and undertreated health conditions in rural areas and deliver innovative, person-centered solutions to improve community health outcomes. There are currently program sites in Texas in Crane, Balmorhea, Saragossa, and Pecos. We are now hiring for the new site in Hobbs, NM, opening in Fall of 2026.

- Identify health-related concerns, collect relevant data, and report findings to Healthy Communities – Permian Basin program leadership.
- Complete all required administrative and technical training prior to fieldwork.
- Demonstrate proficiency in survey administration and data collection activities.
- Identify eligible participants within selected households and administer questionnaires accordingly.
- Manage and maintain field technology, including tablets and Wi-Fi hotspots.
- Assist community members with setting up and using health-related mobile applications.
- Track survey completion and biomarker data to support follow-up activities.
- Work in non-traditional environments (e.g., outdoors, private homes, mobile units).
- Participate in team debrief sessions and contribute to continuous program improvement.
