Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide expert nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients from neonates to geriatrics. Deliver comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and respond efficiently to emergencies, aligning with clinical standards and patient needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' clinical conditions, identify urgent situations, and implement appropriate actions, including informing physicians.
• Formulate and implement nursing diagnoses to deliver personalized care, including discharge planning and addressing cultural or psychosocial needs.
• Initiate emergency measures such as resuscitative efforts during cardiac or respiratory arrest in the absence of immediate physician support.
• Operate and monitor specialized emergency equipment, including infusion pumps, ventilators, and cardiac monitors.
• Administer prescribed therapies, medications, and IV treatments, adjusting based on patient response and condition.
• Educate patients and families on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures, ensuring understanding of care instructions and health management.

Qualifications:

• Valid NY RN license with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a maternity or related setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform physical demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.
