Youth Empowerment Coordinator

About the Role Our client, a forward-thinking non-profit organization dedicated to fostering youth development and leadership, is seeking a passionate and driven Youth Empowerment Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Design and implement engaging programs focused on youth empowerment, skill development, and leadership training. Coordinate and facilitate virtual workshops, webinars, and mentorship sessions for young participants. Develop educational resources and materials tailored to the needs of young people. Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and mentors to support program activities. Build and maintain relationships with schools, community centers, and other youth-serving organizations. Monitor program participation and outcomes, collecting feedback for continuous improvement. Manage program logistics, including scheduling virtual events and participant communication. Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in youth development and empowerment. Assist in the development of grant proposals and fundraising initiatives related to youth programs. Ensure a safe and inclusive virtual environment for all participants. Requirements Demonstrated experience in youth work, education, or program coordination, preferably in a remote setting. Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing young people in South Africa. Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills, particularly in a virtual context. Proficiency with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet, online learning platforms). Creative and innovative approach to program design and delivery. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. A degree or diploma in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team. Passion for empowering youth and fostering positive social change.
