Position: Payroll Lead
Role: Direct Hire
Pay: $55 65k
Location: Tampa, FL: Hybrid 3 days in office per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and support high-volume payroll for a large, multi-state employee population.
- Ensure payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Research and resolve multi-state payroll tax and compliance issues.
- Stay current on changes to state payroll laws, tax regulations, and withholding requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex payroll discrepancies and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Manage and review payroll tax information across multiple jurisdictions and tax IDs.
- Use advanced Excel for payroll reporting, reconciliations, audits, and analysis.
- Serve as a senior resource to the payroll team on complex payroll matters.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and compliance.
- Work closely with payroll leadership on escalations and special projects.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of corporate payroll experience.
- Hands-on experience with multi-state payroll taxes AND payroll laws/regulations.
- Experience processing payroll for 1,000+ employees.
- Strong understanding of federal and state payroll tax compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills formulas, PivotTables, lookups, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Ability to research and interpret different state payroll laws and regulations.
- Comfortable handling complex payroll issues independently.
