As a veterinarian at Big Sky Animal Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in providing urgent care and life-saving treatments for pets in need, with access to advanced equipment and a collaborative support team. - Diagnose and treat urgent medical conditions, including trauma, poisoning, acute illness, and surgical emergencies.
- Provide life-saving interventions such as CPR, fluid resuscitation, and advanced pain management.
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide high-quality care for patients.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners about their pet's condition, treatment options, and prognosis.
- Work closely with specialty services, including internal medicine, surgery, and imaging when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient.
- Provide mentorship and support to technicians and junior staff members.
- DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school.
- Proven experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine, or willing to learn.
- Strong clinical skills, including diagnostics, emergency surgery, and trauma management.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care and client communication.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required in an emergency setting.
