Physician - Orthopedic Surgeon

OPPORTUNITY:We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon to join our hospital-employed practice. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in sports medicine with expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, and an interest in expanding services to include elbow and hip arthroscopy. This is an excellent opportunity to grow a high-demand sports medicine program within a well-established orthopedic group supported by a strong referral network.Practice LocationSOMC Orthopedic AssociatesOffice Hours/Work ScheduleMonday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PMFriday: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AMNo evening or weekend office hoursStaffing6 providers, 8 clinical staff (CMA, LPN, Ortho Techs), 4 front office, 2 surgery schedulers, radiology, and athletic training supportCall Schedule/CERP (if applicable)Call is 1:4Case Load25-40 patients/day in clinicOffice procedure volume varies. Joint injections, aspirations, pin removals, cast application/removal4-8 procedures/day in hospitalSports Medicine:Opportunity to lead and grow the sports medicine service line. The ideal candidate will perform advanced procedures such as:Shoulder and knee arthroscopyComplex ligament reconstruction and/or revisionMeniscal debridement and repairChondroplasty and cartilage restorationRotator cuff/labral repairsAdditional procedures such as elbow and hip arthroscopy would be welcomed additionsTrauma:SOMC manages a steady volume of community trauma. While we are not a designated trauma center, we treat:Long bone, periarticular, pediatric, periprosthetic, and hand/foot fracturesProximal humerus and hip fractures are especially commonMost open fractures and complex pelvic/acetabular trauma are referred outJoint Replacement Surgery:Opportunity to perform primary and revision joint arthroplasty including:Knee, hip, and shoulder replacementCollaboration with a fellowship-trained arthroplasty specialistElbow arthroplasty could be a valuable addition to our offeringsHand Surgery:Current services include:Carpal and cubital tunnel releaseCompression neuropathy managementSoft tissue mass excisions and thumb CMC arthroplastyOpportunities to expand into flexor tendon repair, Dupuytren's contracture management, and ligamentous wrist repairPediatrics:No inpatient pediatric cases. Outpatient pediatric sports procedures desired, including:Arthroscopy of the knee and shoulderPatellofemoral realignmentChondral lesion managementFracture care and benign lesion excisionFoot & Ankle Surgery:Most procedures currently handled by in-house podiatrists, though orthopedic collaboration is welcome, especially in:Ankle arthroscopyLigament repair/reconstructionChondral lesion managementSpine:No spine surgery performed in-house. Cases referred to regional neurosurgeons, supported by on-site pain management services.EquipmentOffice: Cast saw & x-rayHospital: Computers in every room, CPMs, patient lifts, air mats for safe patient handling, Hana table, Wixon, Beach chair, peg board positioning devices in surgery.
