We serve the most vulnerable seniors with better quality and compassion in a value-based model.The Personal Care Assistant is a vital part of our team, providing aid to our participants as well as contributing to the care planning process as a member of our interdisciplinary team (IDT). Reporting to the Day Center Manager, the Personal Care Assistant will provide safe delivery of personal care services to participants at the WelbeHealth day center.This role is different because Personal Care Assistants at WelbeHealth:Collaborate with different departments within our day centers, building strong connections not only with participants, but with team members as wellUnlike in a traditional assisted living facility, our Personal Care Assistants have the opportunity to care for seniors in a lively day center where our participants receive full-service care ranging from medical appointments, to rehabilitation services, to playing games and participating in activitiesWe care about our team members. That’s why we offer:Medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)Work/life balance - We mean it! 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, and 6 sick days401K savings + matchComprehensive compensation package including base pay and bonusAnd additional benefits!On the day-to-day, you will:Provide hands-on personal care assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) to WelbeHealth participants, including but not limited to assisting with escorting, toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, laundry, and physical lifting when transferring participantsMeasure and document participants' vital signs as instructedAct as a medical escort when needed, assisting participants with boarding and exiting WelbeHealth transportation vehiclesOversee activity on the day center floor to assure participant safetyAssist with meal service, ensuring participants receive the correct meals, as well as assist with feeding when neededMaintain personal care supplies such as incontinence supplies and grooming itemsJob requirements include:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCertification of Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant in California (CNA) preferredMinimum of one (1) year of experience providing personal care to seniorsMust be willing and have the ability to safely drive to and from participant escort assignment locations, including but not limited to medical and care appointments in the program service area.CA Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hireMust obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 180 days of hire and maintain certification thereafter; CPR and First Aid certification upon hire preferredWe are seeking Personal Care Assistants that are looking to start their career in the healthcare space.
