About the Position

Job Title: RN Step Down Profession: RN Step Down Specialty: RN Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Certifications: Required certifications in relevant areas Must-Have: - Experience with HFNC, BIPAP, and stable GTT management - Familiarity with post-operative care for CABG, AVR, MVR, and vascular surgery - Competence in managing conditions such as NSTEMI, STEMI, ACS, and sepsis - Experience in care for GIB, post DKA, respiratory failure, and tracheostomy patients - Ability to provide care in a step-down unit environment Description: The role requires expertise in managing high-flow nasal cannula and BIPAP therapy. Candidates should have experience in stable glycemic control and management. Applicants need to be familiar with post-operative care for CABG, AVR, and MVR procedures. Experience in cardiovascular and vascular care is essential. Candidates must have a thorough understanding of abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, lobectomy, carotid endarterectomy, NSTEMI, STEMI, and acute coronary syndrome management. The role includes care for patients experiencing sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and post-diabetic ketoacidosis. Candidates should be equipped to manage respiratory failure and provide care for patients with tracheostomies. The position is within a 30-bed step-down unit and may require floating between critical care service lines.
